Bath repair at your home in Stanmore
We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Common call-outs are for damage beneath the taps and a kit repair that didn’t last, in pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we will sort it.

Repairing versus replacing in Stanmore
A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: tiles along the rim usually crack when it comes out, a new panel is frequently needed, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Prices start from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.
Why us?

Repairs by material
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
What affects the price in Stanmore
Prices start from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:
- Doing more than one item at once
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The material and finish
- The size and number of damaged areas
A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Quotes from your pictures
Two or three clear photos are typically enough. Try to include:
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- One picture of the entire bath
You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
Common questions in Stanmore
Can you quote from pictures?
In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.
Do the materials smell?
There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.
Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?
Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.
Can you redo an old repair?
Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Tell us about it when you send pictures.
Will I be able to see the repair?
On a bath in good condition, a colour matched repair is very hard to spot. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.
How quickly can you book me in?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.
Do you cover the entire of Shropshire?
Everywhere in the UK, Stanmore included. There’s no extra charge for travel.
What information do you need?
Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.
How it works
There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take two to three hours for most chips.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.
Before we arrive
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Advice
When we would advise against a repair
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
- A steel bath rusted through
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Materials we repair
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Cast iron enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Pressed steel enamel
- Acrylic
DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
How to care for the repair
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
- Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
- Rinse it down after each bath
A repaired bath needs no special treatment, beyond gentle cleaning. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners and give it a rinse after each bath.
Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.
