Need bath repair in Stanwell?

How we handle bath repair in Stanwell

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the day after. There is no need to book a plumber or tiler, because the bath doesn’t move. Common call-outs are for a hole punched through by something heavy and deep scratches in acrylic, in whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and acrylic.

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Surrey.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. A repair deals only with the damage in one visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. There is no area surcharge for Stanwell. What changes the price is:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • What the surface is made of
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

How to get a fixed quote

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

Email us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your TW19 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Signs you need bath repair in Stanwell

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and building work is a common culprit. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.

Most people get in touch when they notice one of these:

  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting
  • A chip where the taps sit

What your quote should include

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • Aftercare advice

Stanwell questions

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You will get a fixed quote back, normally with dates to choose from. There’s no obligation to book.

How invisible is a bath repair?

The goal is a repair that blends in. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath, and we will tell you what to expect.

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Most of the time. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so access behind the panel is important.

Are there extra charges for Stanwell?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.

Is there any odour?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.

Can I fix it myself?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. We cannot fix:

  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel

What we do, step by step

Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for a few hours from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Open a window if you can
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
