Bath repair in Stisted without replacing anything

We see every kind of bath damage: dropped-bottle chips, plughole rust, acrylic cracks and impact holes. All of it is repaired where the bath stands. We’re frequently asked to fix cracks in an acrylic bath and an old repair that has yellowed or come loose, on pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface

Don’t leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. And fix dripping taps promptly.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through until it’s repaired. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

What a repair can’t fix

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: tiles along the rim normally crack when it comes out, a new panel is often needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

For landlords and businesses

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire bath and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?

Usually, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a picture.

When to call us in Stisted

Rust tends to begin where water collects, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Once water reaches the steel or iron, rust spreads under the enamel.

The most common problems we are called about are:

  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Chips along the edge of the bath

Questions to ask before you book

  • How soon you can use it again
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • What prep work is covered

Our hiring checklist

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Allow a morning or an afternoon from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and how to care for it.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

How to get a price

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures using our quote form or ring us. We’ll tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • How many areas need work
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The material and finish

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Quotes from your pictures

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
