Bath repair for Stoulton homes

What a repair can’t fix

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

About our bath repair in Stoulton

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and you can typically bathe again the day after. There is no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. We work on cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and acrylic, and common reasons people get in touch are a hole punched through by something heavy and scuffs and scratches in the surface.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re not left on your own once we have gone.

How the visit works

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we are doing. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Stoulton: your questions answered

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Can you redo an old repair?

Regularly. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.

What areas do you cover?

All of Worcestershire, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

Are you accredited?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can landlords book you?

Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

Will it make a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

Do you need bath repair in Stoulton?

The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: the bath is not properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

Clients typically contact us about:

  • A chip where the taps sit
  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Snagging damage from a refit

How to compare quotes

Why repair rather than replace?

People frequently assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. In most cases it doesn’t: a proper repair gives it years more use, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath.

Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Every use opens the crack a little more, and water can get through to the floor below.

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
