Bath repair at your home in Tan-y-maes
A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. You can generally use the bath the next day. We’re frequently asked to fix an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and rust by the waste and overflow, across roll-top & freestanding, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Repair or replace in Tan-y-maes?
A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it takes one visit, and the bathroom stays exactly as it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking.
Why book with us
- No extra charge for your area
- We come to you, anywhere in the UK
- Colour mixed on the day to match
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish
Read our full price list and guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.
Repairs by material
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
What happens on the day
On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take a few hours, depending on the damage, including clearing up.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.
Preparing for the visit
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Open a window if you can

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
Advice
How we price bath repair
Prices start from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Tan-y-maes. The price comes down to:
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- The material
Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Getting a price from photos
Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:
- A picture taken from further back
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- What it’s made of, if you know
To get a price, send a couple of pictures using our quote form or call us. We’ll say straight away whether it can be repaired.
Looking after it afterwards
Nothing complicated is needed:
- Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
- Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
- Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
- Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
Don’t leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. And fix dripping taps promptly.
If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.
