Bath repair near Tealing

For landlords and businesses

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Bath repair in Tealing, done in place

Chips, cracks, rust spots and small holes can be repaired with the bath left exactly where it is. There’s no plumbing to disconnect, the tiles aren’t touched, and the repaired area is colour-matched so it blends in. Typical jobs include holes from dropped items and cracks in an acrylic bath, across whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we’ve gone.

What happens on the day

Visits start with a quick look at the job together. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. Allow two to three hours for most chips, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can typically use the bath the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Open a window if you can

Looking after it afterwards

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath without abrasive products.

Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Every use opens the crack a little more, and it can start to leak underneath.

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Repair or replace in Tealing?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. If the whole surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we’ll tell you. Our bath repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Why Tealing customers choose us

  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • One visit for most repairs
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

See our pricing or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

Honest limits

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we work on in Tealing

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. There is no area surcharge for Tealing. The price reflects:

  • The type of damage
  • What the surface is made of
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How hard the colour is to match

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Send photos for a quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They don’t rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Common questions in Tealing

Is it safe with children and pets around?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so mention it when you send pictures.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it generally saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you will get one combined price.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. If photos don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Do you cover the entire of Dundee?

We work UK-wide. Prices do not change with location.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Often, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a photo.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes, we do this often. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.
