Bath repair in The Wrythe without replacing anything

A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and the bath is back in use the day after. There is no need to book a plumber or tiler, because the bath doesn’t move. We regularly repair whirlpool & spa baths, cast iron enamel and acrylic, and the jobs we see most are a chipped rim or side and rust by the waste and overflow.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll come back.

How the visit works

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.

Why repair rather than replace?

People frequently assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. In most cases it doesn’t: a proper repair gives it years more use, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Our bath repair starts from £95. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why The Wrythe clients choose us

  • Everything repaired in place
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Common problems we fix in The Wrythe

Damage during fitting is very common. Tradespeople drop tools and tiles into the bath, often before anyone notices. We repair snagging damage like this regularly.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Chips under the taps
  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • Chips on the rim or sides

What to look for in a quote

  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show

How to compare quotes

How to care for the repair

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas

Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, as they can leave rust marks. And fix dripping taps promptly.

A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

Can I fix it myself?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Common questions in The Wrythe

How do I book?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes, coloured baths are no problem. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the entire UK, including The Wrythe and the rest of Greater London. Just include your postcode and we will confirm dates.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

In most cases. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.

What happens after I send photos?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote with dates.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Work for landlords and builders

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

What a repair can’t fix

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.
