Bath repair near Twenty

Twenty questions

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?

Regularly. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.

Is there a call-out fee?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.

What does bath repair cost?

Repairs from £95. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You will get a fixed figure before booking.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Can landlords book you?

Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Bath repair in Twenty without replacing anything

A damaged bath does not have to mean a new bathroom. Our repair technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, mixing the colour on the day. We regularly repair cast iron enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and roll-top & freestanding, and people most often call us about a chipped rim or side and rusty patches near the plughole.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Twenty

If you manage property in Twenty, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send pictures for each one and we will come back with a combined price.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Repairs by material

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • The material
  • How much damage there is
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Access to the area

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Twenty. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How to get a fixed quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Any details about the material
  • Natural light rather than flash

Email us photos of the damage and one of the whole item, with your PE10 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

Repair or replace in Twenty?

Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. A repair fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking.

Why book with us

  • Generally one visit, start to finish
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface

Common problems we fix in Twenty

Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On enamelled baths, a chip that reaches the metal lets water in, and rust follows.

Look out for any of the following:

  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
  • Rusty patches near the plughole
  • A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting

What we do, step by step

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes a morning or an afternoon, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Aftercare tips

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted

A repaired bath needs no special treatment. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners and give it a rinse after each bath.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.

Can I fix it myself?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
