Bath repair for Upton Park homes

Bath repair in Upton Park without replacing anything

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Our technicians work on cast iron enamel, pressed steel enamel and acrylic, and the jobs we see most are rusty patches near the plughole and holes from dropped items.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Upton Park as everywhere else we work.

When a repair is not the answer

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How much damage there is
  • How hard the colour is to match

We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Quotes from your photos

You can usually get a fixed quote without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • One picture of the entire bath
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

Upload a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you are in Upton Park, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

The process

We begin by going over the job with you. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. It normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

How to get a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

Keeping it looking good

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long

There is nothing special to do after a repair, beyond gentle cleaning. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners and rinse after use.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Every use opens the crack a little more, and it can start to leak underneath.

Upton Park questions

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including older coloured suites.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.

Do you work in Upton Park?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Upton Park. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

For landlords and businesses

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Repairing versus replacing in Upton Park

Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and replacing like for like is not cheap. A repair keeps it in place. Our bath repair starts from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.
