Wall questions

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and you’ll get one combined price.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

Usually, yes, if we can reach behind it. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.

How do I get a price for bath repair in Wall?

Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item with your NE46 postcode.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including older coloured suites.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.

How long before I can use the bath?

Most baths can be used the following day. We’ll tell you the exact curing time when we finish.

Will there be a smell?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

Bath repair in Wall, done in place

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. Whether it’s rust by the waste and overflow and deep scratches in acrylic, we can normally put it right, on pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths alike.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Repair or replace in Wall?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Our bath repair starts from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why book with us

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Same prices wherever you are

Read our pricing or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

What we cannot put right

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

What we work on

  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Work for landlords and builders

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Northumberland and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Wall. The price comes down to:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The type of damage
  • The material and finish

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Wall. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

Two or three clear photos are typically enough. Try to include:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath

Upload a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your NE46 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

The process

We begin by going over the job with you. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. Allow two to three hours for most chips, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

When to call us in Wall

The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.

The things customers usually mention when they call include:

  • A chipped rim or side
  • Rusty patches near the plughole
  • Chips caused by builders
  • A chip where the taps sit

Before booking anyone

  • What happens if they find more damage
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
