Need bath repair in Whitehills?

Work for landlords and builders

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in South Lanarkshire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Bath repair at your home in Whitehills

Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. A repair stops both. We regularly repair acrylic, whirlpool & spa baths and pressed steel enamel, and people most often call us about hairline or through cracks in acrylic and rust spots around the plughole.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

What affects the price in Whitehills

Repairs from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How many areas need work
  • What kind of damage it is

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Getting a price from photos

When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Where you are, by postcode

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos using our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

Aftercare tips

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long

Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and water can get through to the floor below.

What a repair cannot fix

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, the panel may not fit the new one, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. A repair skips all of it. Our bath repair starts from £95. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

The process

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you are not left guessing. Once we are there, the work takes a few hours, depending on the damage in most cases. We leave the room clean and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
