Repairing versus replacing in Winterley
For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access.
Why book with us
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish

Bath repair in Winterley, done in place
Bath repair is our most common job. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all repaired in place, normally in one visit. If you are dealing with a chip where the taps sit and rust spots around the plughole, we can normally put it right.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll come back.

How to look after the repair
So the finish stays in good condition:
- Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
- Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
- Do not scrub with anything abrasive
Look after the repair the same way as the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.
Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Winterley. What changes the price is:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- How hard the colour is to match
- The material
- Whether we combine several jobs
There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Getting a price from photos
The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- One sharp close-up of the damage
Email us a photo of the damage and one of the entire item, with your CW11 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

FAQs for Winterley
Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?
In most cases. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so we need access under the bath.
Will the repair last?
Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps it last.
What areas do you cover?
Everywhere in the UK, Winterley included. There’s no extra charge for travel.
How invisible is a bath repair?
On a bath in good condition, a colour matched repair is very hard to spot. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
How do I book?
A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.
The process
We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes two to three hours for most chips. We leave the room clean.
- We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
- The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
- We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
- We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
- Once it has cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready to use.
Before we arrive
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
Getting a price
The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures using our quote form or ring us. We’ll say immediately whether it can be repaired.
Related advice
What a repair can’t fix
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. We cannot fix:
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
- Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before you book.
What we work on
- Acrylic
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Cast iron enamel
- Pressed steel enamel
What your bath is made of matters
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
Work for landlords and builders
For anyone letting property in or around Winterley, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we will price them together.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
