Bath repair at your home in Woolfall

Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a repair that’s smooth, sound and hard to spot. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it’s level with the surrounding surface. Typical jobs include a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and a hole punched through by something heavy, on pressed steel enamel, acrylic and roll-top & freestanding.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a fitted bath usually means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. A repair deals only with the damage in a single visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How the visit works

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take a few hours, including clearing up.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

How to get a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Advice

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. There is no area surcharge for Woolfall. What changes the price is:

  • The material and finish
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How easy the damage is to reach

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Getting a price from pictures

When you take your photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • The material, if you know it

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos through our quote form or ring us. We’ll say immediately if a repair is the right fix.

Questions from Woolfall

Will the repair last?

Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps.

How invisible is a bath repair?

On a bath in good condition, a colour-matched repair is very hard to spot. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

How do I book?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.

How long does the repair take to cure?

Most baths can be used the following day. We’ll tell you the exact curing time when we finish.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners.

Can tenants book a repair?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

What happens if you find more damage?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Keeping it looking good

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long
  • Rinse it down after each bath

Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and it can start to leak underneath.

Honest limits

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.
