Trusted bath resealing in Aberdare East

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Aberdare East as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Bath resealing in Aberdare East without replacing anything

All of the old sealant is cut out, treat any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. Our technicians work on kitchen worktops & sinks, baths and shower trays & enclosures, and people most often call us about water getting behind the bath or tray and old sealant that looks dirty.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Prices and what affects them

Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • The material and finish
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Quotes from your pictures

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Try to send:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower

Upload a picture of the damage and one of the entire item, with your CF44 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

What we do, step by step

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. Once we are there, the work takes about two hours for a bath. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, taps included.

How to prepare

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

How to get a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

Do you need bath resealing in Aberdare East?

Sealant does not last forever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould feeds on, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills.

Look out for these signs:

  • Mould you can’t clean out
  • Gaps in the seal
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • A messy previous reseal

Before booking anyone

  • If travel is included in the price
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • How long it needs to cure
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long

How to compare quotes

When a repair isn’t the answer

A repair is not always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Aberdare East questions

Do you come to Aberdare East?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Aberdare East and the rest of Rhondda Cynon Taff. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

Normally about a day later. We confirm before we leave.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there is more, we’ll tell you before starting.

Do you seal over the old sealant?

All the old sealant comes out. New silicone will not bond to old.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

Typically because the bath or tray moves, or it was sealed with the bath empty. We fill the bath before sealing it.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the entire UK, including Aberdare East and the rest of Rhondda Cynon Taff. Just include your postcode and we’ll offer you dates.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

How to care for the repair

It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:

  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly

Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
