- Water getting behind the bath or tray
- Sealant that is split or lifting

What your bath or shower is made of matters
Baths
Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.
Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.
How we handle bath resealing in Ampfield
We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint opens fully, so the seal does not tear when the bath is first used. We work on kitchen worktops & sinks, baths and shower trays & enclosures, and people most often call us about gaps in the seal and a messy previous reseal.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Ampfield as everywhere else we work.

Work for landlords and builders
If you manage property in Ampfield, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
How we price bath resealing
There’s no charge for travel to Ampfield. The price comes down to:
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Doing more than one item at once
- What the surface is made of
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Send photos for a quote
The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Any details about the material
- Details of any past repairs
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath or shower, we can price the job the same day in most cases.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
Honest limits
To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:
- Very wide gaps that need a trim
- A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
- Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Materials we repair
- Basins & vanity units
- Baths
- Wet rooms
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Shower trays & enclosures
Keeping it looking good
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Let steam out after showers
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
- Clean the sealant gently and regularly
- Wipe the joints dry after use
Don’t scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and don’t stand bottles on the seal.
Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.
The process
A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow a couple of hours from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to look after it.
- First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
- We clean the joint and treat any mould.
- The joint is dried thoroughly.
- For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
- We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.
Getting ready for the visit
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
