About our bath resealing in Angmering

We cut out all of the old sealant, treat any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. If you’re dealing with silicone coming away from the tiles and silicone smeared on tiles, we can usually put it right, on wet rooms, shower trays & enclosures and basins & vanity units alike.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Angmering

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll handle the rest.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

What a repair can’t fix

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units

Aftercare tips

Aftercare is simple:

  • Let steam out after showers
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

When to call us in Angmering

Sealant does not last forever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould feeds on, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Black mould in the sealant
  • Stained silicone
  • Leaks at the edges
  • Gaps in the seal

Before you book anyone

  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Who turns up on the day
  • When it can be used again
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price

10 questions to ask before booking

FAQs for Angmering

How do I book?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

All the old sealant comes out. New silicone will not bond to old.

How long does a reseal take?

Around two hours for a bath, then it needs to cure.

My seal keeps tearing. Why?

Movement is the usual cause. We fill the bath before sealing it.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, we frequently do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

How it works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It generally takes about two hours for a bath, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Advice

What bath resealing costs

There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How many areas need work
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

Quotes from your photos

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

Send us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Angmering, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Is resealing worth it?

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.
