About our bath resealing in Birtley Green
A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. Whether it’s mould you can’t clean out and damp near the bath, we can usually put it right.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Your questions about bath resealing in Birtley Green
Why does my sealant keep splitting?
Usually because the bath or tray moves. We fill the bath before sealing it.
Will you leave a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.
Do you charge for travel?
No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Are you a vetted contractor?
We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
How do I stop mould in sealant?
Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.
Will there be a smell?
There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.
Do I need to be at home?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.
How we price bath resealing
Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:
- The material and finish
- How easy the damage is to reach
- How hard the colour is to match
- How many items we do on one visit
Compared with replacing, repairing normally costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.
How to get a fixed quote
Two or three clear photos are normally enough. Try to include:
- Details of any past repairs
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Where you are, by postcode
Most clients in Birtley Green get their price from photos. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Why reseal now?
Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and that damage costs much more to fix. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Why us?
- Honest advice, even when it means no job
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.
Keeping it looking good
Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:
- Clean the sealant gently and regularly
- Let steam out after showers
- Reseal when black spots will not clean off
- Do not stand toiletries on the seal
Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and don’t stand bottles on the seal.
Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.
How it works
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, and get on with the job, which generally takes about two hours for a bath. If anything looks different from your photos, we will talk to you before going ahead.
- All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
- The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
- We make sure the joint is completely dry.
- For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
- We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.
Getting ready for the visit
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Keep a parking space free if you can
Ask for a price
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath or shower, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
