Bath & shower resealing (mastic) in Cranwell, Lincolnshire
Bath resealing across Cranwell and nearby, done in a single visit in most cases.
- Silicone coming away from the tiles
- Water getting behind the bath or tray
- A messy previous reseal

Bath resealing in Cranwell, done in place
Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. Common call-outs are for sealant that’s split or lifting and discoloured, yellow sealant, across basins & vanity units, kitchen worktops & sinks and wet rooms.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will sort it.

How we price bath resealing
There’s no area surcharge for Cranwell. The price reflects:
- How many areas need work
- What the surface is made of
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Quotes from your pictures
Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Natural light rather than flash
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Any details about the material

How to look after the repair
Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:
- Reseal at the first sign of lifting
- Open a window after bathing
- Dry the seal after bathing
- Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, generally around 24 hours.
Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly; it shows moisture is getting in. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
Your questions about bath resealing in Cranwell
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just ensure the landlord agrees.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.
Why does mould come back so fast?
Mould needs moisture. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

When we would advise against a repair
We won’t take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first
- Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.
What we work on
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Wet rooms
- Basins & vanity units
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Baths
Can I fix it myself?
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
When to call us in Cranwell
A bathroom without good ventilation is hard on sealant: damp hangs around, and mould takes hold.
Send us a picture if you notice any of these:
- Leaks at the edges
- Missing sealant behind the taps
- Stained silicone
- Sealant that’s split or lifting

Is resealing worth it?
Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

The process
Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for about two hours for a bath. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- We cut out all of the old sealant.
- We remove the residue and clean the joint.
- Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
- We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
- We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.
How to prepare
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Make sure the area is dry
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
