Bath resealing near Croxdale

How we handle bath resealing in Croxdale

A good reseal is all about preparation: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Then the fresh sealant goes on, as one neat, continuous bead. We regularly repair basins & vanity units, wet rooms and baths, and common reasons people get in touch are water getting behind the bath or tray and mould you can’t clean out.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

What we can’t put right

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, for example:

  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • A flexing bath
  • Hollow or loose tiles

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures

How to care for the repair

Aftercare is simple:

  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Wipe the joints dry after use

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, usually around 24 hours.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

What happens on the day

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. Most jobs take a couple of hours, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, taps included.

How to prepare

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Related advice

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Croxdale questions

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

We always remove the old sealant completely. Fresh silicone does not stick to old.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.

How long before I can shower?

We’ll give you the curing time, typically around a day.

Which areas do you work in?

Across the UK, and that includes Croxdale. Prices do not change with location.

How do I get a price for bath resealing in Croxdale?

Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

What do you need from me?

Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.
