Bath resealing for Frocester homes

How we handle bath resealing in Frocester

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and a new seal stops it. Typical jobs include water getting behind the bath or tray and gaps by the taps, across baths, kitchen worktops & sinks and wet rooms.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

Prices and what affects them

A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We take into account:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The material and finish
  • How many items we do on one visit

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.

Getting a price from pictures

You can generally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The material, if you know it
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

Different materials, different repairs

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

How the visit works

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take a couple of hours, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Getting a price

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Honest limits

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

What we work on

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths

DIY kit or professional repair?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

For landlords and businesses

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

For anyone letting property in or around Frocester, we will quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Open a window after bathing
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Ventilate the bathroom well

Use the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
