Need bath resealing in Hardwick?

Bath resealing in Hardwick without replacing anything

We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint opens fully, which stops the new seal tearing the first time the bath is used. Our technicians work on baths, wet rooms and shower trays & enclosures, and the jobs we see most are stained silicone and silicone smeared on tiles.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

When to call us in Hardwick

Even good sealant eventually discolours. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.

Most people get in touch when they notice something like this:

  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • A messy previous reseal
  • Gaps by the taps

Your questions about bath resealing in Hardwick

Do you cover Hardwick?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Hardwick for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

How much does bath resealing cost in Hardwick?

Every job gets a fixed quote from your pictures. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the entire UK, including Hardwick and the rest of Northamptonshire. Send your postcode with your pictures and we will offer you dates.

What do you need from me?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Do you seal over the old sealant?

Never over old. The old sealant is cut out and the joint cleaned and dried.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Does someone need to be in?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

How to care for the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Air the room after use

Good ventilation is the best protection, and wipe the joints after use so mould struggles to take hold.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

What we can’t put right

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • Hidden water damage
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Movement in the bath or tray

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths

Repairs by material

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

What bath resealing costs

Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:

  • The material
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How many areas need work

We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How to get a fixed quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath or shower, we can give you a fixed quote.

The process

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to around two hours, tidy-up included.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

How to prepare

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Getting a price

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos through our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Why reseal now?

Resealing is a small job. Putting off a reseal lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
