Need bath resealing in Hemsted?

How we price bath resealing

There is no area surcharge for Hemsted. The price reflects:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Hemsted. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • One picture of the whole bath or shower
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Bath resealing in Hemsted, done in place

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint opens fully, which stops the new seal tearing the first time the bath is used. Typical jobs include silicone coming away from the tiles and unsealed corners, on basins & vanity units, wet rooms and kitchen worktops & sinks.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will sort it.

Common problems we fix in Hemsted

Sealant splits when the bath or tray moves, often because it was sealed with the bath empty.

People usually call us when they notice something like this:

  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • Damp near the bath
  • An untidy old seal
  • Black mould in the sealant

What your quote should include

  • How soon you can use it again
  • How your room will be protected
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • How changes to the job are handled

Choosing a repair company

DIY kit or professional repair?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

The process

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Allow about two hours for a bath from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

Aftercare tips

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Keep bottles off the joints

Good ventilation is the best protection, and wipe the joints after use.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.

Why it’s worth resealing in Hemsted

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It peels within weeks, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why book with us

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

How long does resealing take?

Normally a couple of hours, plus curing time.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.

What a repair can’t fix

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.
