Hollym: your questions answered
Is repairing better than replacing?
Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Do the materials smell?
A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
What areas do you cover?
Everywhere in the UK, Hollym included. Travel is included in the price.
How much does bath resealing cost in Hollym?
Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You will get a fixed figure before you book.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.
Do you cover Hollym?
We do. We send a technician to Hollym for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

Signs you need bath resealing in Hollym
In time, even good sealant discolours particularly in a well-used bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.
You may need us if you’ve spotted:
- Black mould in the sealant
- A messy previous reseal
- Discoloured, yellow sealant
- Gaps by the taps

How we price bath resealing
There is no charge for travel to Hollym. The price comes down to:
- The material and finish
- How easy the damage is to reach
- The colour and finish to match
- How much damage there is
What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.
Quotes from your photos
Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Details of any past repairs
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Any details about the material
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath or shower, include your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.
Work for landlords and builders
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
If you manage property in Hollym, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we will come back with a combined price.

What we do, step by step
There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will get on with it. Most visits take around two hours, tidy-up included.
- We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
- Old sealant and residue are removed.
- The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
- Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
- The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
How to get a price
Upload photos of the damage and one of the entire item, with your HU19 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Why it’s worth resealing in Hollym
Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
What you get with us
- Free fixed quotes from pictures
- Most jobs done in one visit
- Work done at your home or business
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited
See our prices page.
Can I fix it myself?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
How to care for the repair
A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:
- Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
- Clean the sealant gently and regularly
- Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
- Air the room after use
Keep the room well ventilated, and wipe the joints after use.
Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
