Bath resealing in Horham without replacing anything

We reseal baths, shower trays, basins and worktops using mould-resistant silicone. A typical reseal takes a couple of hours, then it needs to cure. We work on wet rooms, basins & vanity units and shower trays & enclosures, and the jobs we see most are gaps by the taps and a messy previous reseal.

Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Keeping it looking good

Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:

  • Use the extractor fan
  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Dry the seal after bathing

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

The process

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take about two hours for a bath, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Honest limits

We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures

Horham: your questions answered

How long will it take?

Generally a couple of hours, then it needs to cure.

Can landlords book you?

Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

What does bath resealing cost?

Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

What happens after I send photos?

You’ll get a fixed quote back, normally with dates to choose from. There’s no obligation to book.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

How long does silicone take to cure?

Normally about a day later. We confirm before we leave.

Do you cover Horham?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Horham for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

Movement is the usual cause, or it was sealed with the bath empty. We seal baths full of water.

Do you need bath resealing in Horham?

Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the silicone, so cleaning only removes the surface.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • Stained silicone
  • Unsealed corners
  • Leaks at the edges
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles

Questions to ask before you book

  • Whether the price covers travel
  • When it can be used again
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • How to look after the finish
