Bath resealing at your home in Kenn
We cut out all of the old sealant, treat any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. We are often asked to fix discoloured, yellow sealant and damp near the bath, in kitchen worktops & sinks, basins & vanity units and baths.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

What your bath or shower is made of matters
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.
Is resealing worth it?
Resealing costs very little and protects the walls and floor. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Kenn. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Looking after it afterwards
So the finish stays in good condition:
- Ventilate the bathroom well
- Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
- Keep the joints dry
- Let steam out after showers
Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.
If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
Honest limits
Some jobs are not right for a repair, for example:
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first

- Movement in the bath or tray
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

Will there be a smell?
Expect a mild smell while we’re working, which fades afterwards.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?
Movement is the usual cause. We seal baths full of water.
How it works
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. Most jobs take around two hours, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
- We clean, treat and dry the joint.
- We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
- The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.
Preparing for the visit
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
Ask for a price
The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures using our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.
