How we handle bath resealing in Llandderfel

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Fresh joints make the whole room look cleaner, and they keep water out. We’re frequently asked to fix discoloured, yellow sealant and water getting behind the bath or tray, on kitchen worktops & sinks, wet rooms and baths.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Llandderfel as everywhere else we work.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

What we are called out for in Llandderfel

In time, even good sealant discolours. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Black mould in the sealant
  • An untidy old seal
  • Leaks at the edges
  • Sealant that’s split or lifting

What affects the price in Llandderfel

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The material and finish

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Llandderfel. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

How to get a fixed quote

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To help us price it:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath or shower, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

Honest limits

Some jobs are not right for a repair, for example:

  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths

Resealing in Llandderfel: why it matters

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It peels within weeks, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it.

What you get with us

  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Most jobs done in one visit

Keeping it looking good

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:

  • Use the extractor fan
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Air the room after use
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner

Use the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Repairs by material

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

What we do, step by step

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take around two hours, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
