Bath resealing in London Beach

Bath resealing at your home in London Beach

A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. Fresh sealant doesn’t stick to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. Our technicians work on shower trays & enclosures, baths and basins & vanity units, and common reasons people get in touch are water getting behind the bath or tray and a messy previous reseal.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in London Beach and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

What affects the price in London Beach

We do not charge extra for travel to London Beach. The price depends on:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The material and finish

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

Quotes from your photos

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:

  • The material, if you know it
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Upload a photo of the damage and one of the entire item, with your TN30 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Common questions in London Beach

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

How long does resealing take?

Usually a couple of hours, plus curing time.

Is there any odour?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.

How long does silicone take to cure?

Typically after around 24 hours. We confirm before we leave.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

How quickly can you book me in?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

My seal keeps tearing. Why?

Usually because the bath or tray moves. We fill the bath before sealing it.

Repairs by material

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

How it works

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take about two hours for a bath, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Before we arrive

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Make sure the area is dry

How to get a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

For landlords and businesses

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Why reseal now?

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It peels within weeks, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
