Bath resealing in Minsmere without replacing anything
A good reseal is all about preparation: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Then the fresh sealant goes on, as one neat, continuous bead. Whether it’s mould you can’t clean out and damp near the bath, we can help, on basins & vanity units, wet rooms and kitchen worktops & sinks alike.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

What we’re called out for in Minsmere
Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the silicone, so cleaning only removes the surface.
The things customers normally mention when they call include:
- Black mould in the sealant
- Discoloured, yellow sealant
- A messy previous reseal
- Leaks at the edges
What your quote should include
- How long it needs to cure
- How the room is protected while they work
- How the colour is matched
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long

Keeping it looking good
Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:
- Ventilate the bathroom well
- Air the room after use
- Wipe the joints dry after use
- Reseal at the first sign of lifting
Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, usually around 24 hours.
Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. There may be more going on, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

When a repair is not the answer
A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:
- Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
- A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.
What we work on
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Wet rooms
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Basins & vanity units
- Baths
Why reseal now?
Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, and that damage costs much more to fix. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
What you get with us
- Work done at your home or business
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
- Same prices wherever you are
- We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
Read our pricing.
Prices and what affects them
A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:
- What the surface is made of
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Whether we combine several jobs
We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
How to get a fixed quote
When you take your pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:
- Any details about the material
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
If you are in Minsmere and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
Questions from Minsmere
Do I need to be at home?
We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Do you cover Minsmere?
We do. Technicians travel to Minsmere from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Can you price it without visiting?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.
Why does my sealant keep splitting?
Something is moving. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.
Do you seal over the old sealant?
Never over old. It’s removed, cleaned off and the joint dried first.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
DIY kit or professional repair?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.
How the visit works
We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take around two hours, and we leave the room as we found it.
- The old silicone is cut out completely.
- We remove the residue and clean the joint.
- We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
- We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
- We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
Ask for a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath or shower, include your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.
Advice
Different materials, different repairs
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.
