Bath resealing in Neal's Green, done in place
Preparation is everything in a reseal: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Only then does the new sealant go on, as one neat, continuous bead. We work on wet rooms, shower trays & enclosures and baths, and the jobs we see most are black spots in the silicone and silicone coming away from the tiles.
You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Keeping it looking good
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
- Wipe the joints dry after use
- Reseal at the first sign of lifting
- Ventilate the bathroom well
Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, usually around 24 hours.
If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
Why reseal now?
Putting new silicone over old does not last. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

The process
You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It typically takes about two hours for a bath, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.
- First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
- We clean the joint and treat any mould.
- We make sure the joint is completely dry.
- For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
- We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Open a window if you can
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Related advice
DIY repairs versus a professional job
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.
