Bath resealing in North Kessock

About our bath resealing in North Kessock

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint opens fully, so the seal doesn’t tear when the bath is first used. Typical jobs include gaps in the seal and an untidy old seal, across wet rooms, basins & vanity units and kitchen worktops & sinks.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are covered after the visit.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we will handle the rest.

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

What happens on the day

Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Plan for around two hours. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to care for it.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Ensure the area is dry

North Kessock: your questions answered

How long does resealing take?

Around two hours for a bath, plus curing time.

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to North Kessock. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What happens after I send photos?

We come back with a fixed quote, normally with dates to choose from. There’s no obligation to book.

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

Repairs by material

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

Is resealing worth it?

Resealing costs very little. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it.

How to care for the repair

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Let steam out after showers
  • Keep the joints dry

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, typically around 24 hours.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
