10 questions to ask before booking

What bath resealing costs

We price every job individually, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • The type of damage
  • The material
  • Access to the area
  • Whether we combine several jobs

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Getting a price from pictures

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Try to send:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A picture taken from further back
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Any details about the material

Upload pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you are in Pathfinder Village, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

Honest limits

We will not take on work that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • Movement in the bath or tray

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

Pathfinder Village: your questions answered

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

How long does resealing take?

Most reseals take about two hours. It then needs time to cure.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

How long before I can shower?

We’ll give you the curing time, generally around a day.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

All the old sealant comes out. New silicone won’t bond to old.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.

How do I book?

Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Pathfinder Village

If you manage property in Pathfinder Village, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll arrange it.

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It typically takes around two hours, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Ask for a price

Why reseal now?

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. A proper reseal removes the old first. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

Keeping it looking good

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Let steam out after showers
  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal
  • Wipe the joints dry after use

Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and do not stand bottles on the seal.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.
