How we handle bath resealing in Quadring
Resealing is quick, but it transforms the look. Fresh joints make the whole room look cleaner, and they keep water out. Whether it’s sealant that’s split or lifting and a messy previous reseal, we can usually put it right.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in Quadring and across Lincolnshire.

Is resealing worth it?
Compared with repairing water damage, resealing is cheap. It’s quick, tidy and protects your home. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Why us?

Should I try a DIY kit first?
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.
How it works
Your technician turns up when we said we would and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take a couple of hours, and we leave the room as we found it.
- All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
- Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
- The joint is dried thoroughly.
- We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
- We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.
Getting ready for the visit
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Quadring: your questions answered
Do you hold any accreditations?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?
Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.
Do you do work for letting agents?
We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.
How do I book?
Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.
When can you do it?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
Does someone need to be in?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You do not need to watch us work.

Keeping it looking good
It’s all simple stuff:
- Open a window after bathing
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Keep the joints dry
- Keep bottles off the joints
Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally about a day.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
What a repair can’t fix
Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
- Movement in the bath or tray
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
What we work on
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Baths
- Basins & vanity units

Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.
