Bath resealing in Skelbo Muir

Work for landlords and builders

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Highland and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we’ll handle the rest.

About our bath resealing in Skelbo Muir

Resealing is quick, but it transforms the look. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they keep water out. We work on baths, basins & vanity units and kitchen worktops & sinks, and the jobs we see most are missing sealant behind the taps and water getting behind the bath or tray.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we will sort it.

Aftercare tips

A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:

  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner

Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

DIY kit or professional repair?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

What we can’t put right

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • A flexing bath
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Why reseal now?

Putting new silicone over old does not last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Skelbo Muir. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

How the visit works

Your technician turns up when we said we would and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take about two hours for a bath, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, taps included.

Before we arrive

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
