Bath resealing for Stoford homes

Bath resealing in Stoford, done in place

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. Whether it’s silicone coming away from the tiles and an untidy old seal, we can help, on basins & vanity units, kitchen worktops & sinks and wet rooms alike.

Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

Stoford: your questions answered

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Do you come to Stoford?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Stoford and the rest of Somerset. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

How soon can you come?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

We’ll give you the curing time.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Can new silicone go over old?

All the old sealant comes out. Fresh silicone doesn’t stick to old.

Which areas do you work in?

All of Somerset, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

What a repair cannot fix

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We cannot fix:

  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

How the visit works

Here’s how a visit typically runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for about two hours for a bath from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to care for it.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We ensure the joint is completely dry.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Advice

Why reseal now?

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It peels within weeks, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Why book with us

  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

Repairs by material

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.

For landlords and businesses

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Stoford as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

Keeping it looking good

To keep it looking its best:

  • Open a window after bathing
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Store bottles on a shelf

Keep the room well ventilated, and dry the joints after bathing to keep mould away.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Prices and what affects them

We charge the same across the UK, including Stoford. The price reflects:

  • The material
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Access to the area
  • The size and number of damaged areas

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Send photos for a quote

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Any details about the material
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.
