Bath resealing for Swanbach homes

Bath resealing at your home in Swanbach

A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. Fresh sealant does not stick to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. If you’re dealing with old sealant that looks dirty and silicone coming away from the tiles, we can normally put it right, on kitchen worktops & sinks, shower trays & enclosures and baths alike.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

What happens on the day

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow around two hours. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We make sure the joint is completely dry.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Advice

Resealing in Swanbach: why it matters

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

What you get with us

  • One price list for the whole UK

FAQs for Swanbach

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

All the old sealant comes out. New silicone will not bond to old.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

How do I book?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.

Do you come to Swanbach?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Swanbach and the rest of Cheshire East. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Will the price change on the day?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Prices and what affects them

There’s no charge for travel to Swanbach. The price comes down to:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • What the surface is made of
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Doing more than one item at once

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Send pictures for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath or shower, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

When we’d advise against a repair

We will not take on work that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Hidden water damage
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms

DIY repairs versus a professional job

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

Looking after it afterwards

Looking after the surface is easy:

  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, typically around 24 hours.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Signs you need bath resealing in Swanbach

Poor ventilation speeds things up: moisture sits on the joints longer, and mould grows faster.

Common reasons people in Swanbach contact us are:

  • Stained silicone
  • Mould you can’t clean out
  • Gaps by the taps
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
