How we handle bath resealing in Waterloo

Preparation is everything in a reseal: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Only then does the new sealant go on, as one neat, continuous bead. Typical jobs include water getting behind the bath or tray and silicone smeared on tiles, in basins & vanity units, kitchen worktops & sinks and wet rooms.

Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee.

What happens on the day

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take around two hours, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Which areas do you work in?

Across the UK, and that includes Waterloo. Prices do not change with location.

Are there extra charges for Waterloo?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Do you cover Waterloo?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Waterloo and the rest of Suffolk. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Will the price change on the day?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

How long does silicone take to cure?

You’ll get the curing time from us, normally around a day.

Signs you need bath resealing in Waterloo

Poor ventilation speeds things up: moisture sits on the joints longer, and mould grows faster.

Common reasons people in Waterloo contact us include:

  • Stained silicone
  • Damp near the bath

  • Unsealed corners

Choosing a repair company

How we price bath resealing

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • How many areas need work
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • What the surface is made of
  • What kind of damage it is

We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Getting a price from photos

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Keeping it looking good

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner

Good ventilation is the best protection, and wipe the joints after use to keep mould away.

Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

Can I fix it myself?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.
