What to do now
- Stop using the bath so water doesn’t get underneath.
- Dry the area and cover the hole with waterproof tape for now.
- Take photos of the hole and, if you can, from behind with the panel off.
How the repair works
A hole needs backing so the repair is as strong as the bath around it. We reinforce the hole from behind, build up the front with filler, shape it to the curve of the bath, then refinish and colour-match the surface. Most baths can be used again the next day.
When a hole is hard to repair
- In the base: many acrylic baths have a board under the base, which can block access.
- Under a shoulder or support: brackets can get in the way.
- Large or shattered areas: may need more rebuilding.
Even then, there’s often a way. Send us photos.
Real example
One of the photos on our bath repair page shows a broken acrylic bath corner, rebuilt and refinished in place.
Every job is different. Send us a photo and we’ll tell you what we’d recommend for your bath, sink or surface.
