Why restore rather than replace
Cast iron roll-tops are heavy, durable and hard to replace like for like. The enamel wears long before the iron does, so most can be restored where they stand.
The inside
Worn, stained or chipped enamel inside the bath is repaired and then re-enamelled with the bath in place. Deep etching or pitting may need an extra day of filling for a smooth finish.
The outside and feet
The painted outside of a freestanding bath can be prepared and refinished in a colour of your choice. Ask us about the feet when you send photos.
Before you buy a reclaimed bath
Check for cracks in the iron, heavy rust around the waste and overflow, and previous coatings that are peeling. Send us photos and we’ll tell you what restoration would involve.
