Need coloured bath resurfacing in Ashgill?

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Ashgill

Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. We’re often asked to fix faded or patchy colour and selling or letting a home with an old suite, on coloured shower trays, coloured basins and whole bathroom suites.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Work for landlords and builders

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Ashgill

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How many areas need work
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Doing more than one item at once

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Getting a price from photos

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A wider photo showing the whole suite
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Questions from Ashgill

Do the materials smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

What happens after I send pictures?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote with dates.

What about the toilet?

Ask us. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we will advise honestly before quoting.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before and we will plan for it.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

How the visit works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take a day or two, depending on how many items, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, typically ready the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Getting a price

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and no obligation.

What a repair cannot fix

Some jobs are not right for a repair, including:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we work on in Ashgill

  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

Can I fix it myself?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Repairing versus replacing in Ashgill

Replacing a coloured suite involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing changes the colour without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
