Coloured bath resurfacing in Bankglen

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Bankglen

A full suite is normally done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. If you’re dealing with selling or letting a home with an old suite and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, we can usually put it right, whatever the material.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Common problems we fix in Bankglen

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Our hiring checklist

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • How many areas need work
  • What the surface is made of
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Compared with replacing, repairing normally costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Quotes from your pictures

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A wider photo showing the whole suite

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Bankglen questions

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.

Do you cover Bankglen?

We do. We send a technician to Bankglen for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Can you price it without visiting?

Normally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Can you do the toilet too?

Ask us. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we’ll advise honestly before quoting.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

What information do you need?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Normally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

How the visit works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Allow one to two days for a full suite from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. We leave everything to cure, generally until the next day.

How to prepare

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
