Coloured bath resurfacing for Bathway homes

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Bathway

A full suite is normally done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. We work on whole bathroom suites, coloured shower trays and coloured basins, and people most often call us about faded or patchy colour and selling or letting a home with an old suite.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

DIY kit or professional repair?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

Work for landlords and builders

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Bathway. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why book with us

Bathway questions

Do you hold any accreditations?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Is there any odour?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the whole suite and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

Can you do the toilet too?

Ask us. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will tell you what will last.

Is there a call-out fee?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Bathway

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

Questions to ask before you book

  • How the room is protected while they work
  • How soon you can use it again
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • What aftercare is recommended

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Prices start from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • What kind of damage it is
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Quotes from your pictures

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A wider photo showing the entire suite
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

What we cannot put right

We will not take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins

What we do, step by step

You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take a day or two, depending on how many items, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. We leave everything to cure, usually until the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
