Should I try a DIY kit first?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Coloured bath resurfacing in Blackwood, done in place

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is normally done in one to two days. We regularly repair coloured shower trays, whole bathroom suites and coloured basins, and common reasons people get in touch are a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and faded or patchy colour.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll come back. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Access to the area
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • What the surface is made of

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Getting a price from pictures

You can take the photos on your phone. Just ensure we can see:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • One picture of the entire suite
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

Do you need coloured bath resurfacing in Blackwood?

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is generally the colour, not the bath.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

Questions to ask before you book

  • How the colour is matched
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?

Should you replace it?

Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Why book with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Work done at your home or business

Read our full price list and guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

When a repair is not the answer

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins

How the visit works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take a day or two, depending on how many items, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the suite is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
