Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Blaengarw

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Our hiring checklist

Coloured bath resurfacing in Blaengarw, done in place

Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. We regularly repair coloured shower trays, coloured basins and whole bathroom suites, and people most often call us about faded or patchy colour and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Should you replace it?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why book with us

  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Colour-matched on site
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How many areas need work
  • The material

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Quotes from your pictures

Two or three clear photos are typically enough. It helps if you send:

  • One picture of the whole suite
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • The material, if you know it
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Blaengarw questions

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

When can you do it?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Is there any odour?

There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.

Will you leave a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.

Is there a call-out fee?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

What information do you need?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.

Landlord and trade work in Blaengarw

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we’ll arrange it.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Blaengarw as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

What happens on the day

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It usually takes one to two days for a full suite, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Getting a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole suite, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

Honest limits

We won’t take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.
