Coloured bath resurfacing for Boothen homes

Coloured bath resurfacing in Boothen, done in place

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is normally done in one to two days. If you’re dealing with a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, we can typically put it right, on coloured basins, avocado, pampas and pink baths and whole bathroom suites alike.

All our work comes with a one-year guarantee. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

For landlords and businesses

For anyone letting property in or around Boothen, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send photos for each one and we’ll price them together.

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Can pets and children be at home?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.

When we would advise against a repair

We will not take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Resurfacing from £350. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The material
  • How many items we do on one visit

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Send pictures for a quote

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Boothen

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

What to look for in a quote

  • How changes to the job are handled
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • How the colour is matched

Our hiring checklist

What happens on the day

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which typically takes a day or two, depending on how many items. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the suite is ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.
