How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Breeds

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. We work on avocado, pampas and pink baths, whole bathroom suites and coloured shower trays, and common reasons people get in touch are a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

The process

There is not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to a day or two, depending on how many items, including clearing up.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

Repair or replace in Breeds?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

What you get with us

  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

Breeds questions

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

How do I get a price for coloured bath resurfacing in Breeds?

Resurfacing from £350. We give a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your CM3 postcode.

How do I book?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Generally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send photos.

Can pets and children be at home?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

What areas do you cover?

All of Essex, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Prices start from £350. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Access to the area
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The type of damage

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Breeds. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Getting a price from photos

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • One picture of the whole suite
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire suite, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

Landlord and trade work in Breeds

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Breeds use us as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

Do you need coloured bath resurfacing in Breeds?

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is typically the colour, not the bath.
