Coloured bath resurfacing for Burniere homes

When to call us in Burniere

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is normally the colour, not the bath.

These are the problems we are asked about most:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

What your quote should include

  • Aftercare advice
  • Who turns up on the day
  • What prep work is covered
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?

10 questions to ask before booking

Coloured bath resurfacing in Burniere, done in place

Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. We work on coloured basins, coloured shower trays and avocado, pampas and pink baths, and people most often call us about a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

How the visit works

Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes a day or two, depending on how many items, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. We leave everything to cure, typically until the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

What a repair can’t fix

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why us?

  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

Landlords, agents and businesses in Burniere

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details and we will arrange it.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Access to the area
  • How much damage there is

A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from photos

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.

FAQs for Burniere

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, we frequently do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Do you cover the whole of Cornwall?

All of Cornwall, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

What information do you need?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.
