When we would advise against a repair

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we work on in Canada

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Canada

Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. We are often asked to fix a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and faded or patchy colour, in coloured shower trays, whole bathroom suites and avocado, pampas and pink baths.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we will come back. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Canada questions

How do I book?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

How quickly can you book me in?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

Do you cover the entire of Hampshire?

Across the UK. Prices don’t change with location.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it usually saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you’ll get one combined price.

When to call us in Canada

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is normally the colour, not the bath.

Customers usually contact us about:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour

What your quote should include

  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • When it can be used again
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • How your room will be protected

10 questions to ask before booking

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Canada as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

What affects the price in Canada

Prices start from £350. There is no area surcharge for Canada. The price reflects:

  • The material and finish
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Whether we combine several jobs

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Canada. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

You can take the photos on your phone. Just make sure we can see:

  • One picture of the entire suite
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Natural light rather than flash

Email us photos of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Canada, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

Repairing versus replacing in Canada

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

How the visit works

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes one to two days for a full suite. If anything looks different from your pictures, we will talk to you before going ahead.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the suite is ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
