Coloured bath resurfacing near Carlton

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Carlton

A full suite is normally done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. We’re frequently asked to fix a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, across whole bathroom suites, coloured shower trays and avocado, pampas and pink baths.

In a village like Carlton, some baths have been in for many years. A sound older bath is well worth repairing.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. In an older home in a village like Carlton, replacing a suite can be harder than it sounds: original pieces may not match modern sizes, and access can be awkward. A repair keeps the original.

Prices start from £350. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Carlton. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

What we cannot put right

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

What affects the price in Carlton

Prices start from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:

  • How many areas need work
  • The material and finish
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Getting a price from photos

When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. Quotes cost nothing and you’re under no obligation.

What we are called out for in Carlton

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.

Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour

Landlords with property near Snaith station (about 1.3 miles south) use us between tenancies, so coloured suites are repaired rather than replaced.

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether the price covers travel
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Who will actually do the work
  • How soon you can use it again

Choosing a repair company

Landlords, agents and businesses in Carlton

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

How it works

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes one to two days for a full suite. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on. In a village or hamlet like Carlton, access can be the only tricky part. Once on site, the job is the same as anywhere.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, generally ready the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

How to get a price

Email us a photo of the damage and one of the whole item, with your DN14 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
