What we are called out for in Castle

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is generally the colour, not the bath.

The most common problems we’re called about are:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour

What to look for in a quote

  • How to look after the finish
  • How the colour is matched
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • Who turns up on the day

Choosing a repair company

Coloured bath resurfacing in Castle without replacing anything

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. We work on avocado, pampas and pink baths, coloured basins and whole bathroom suites, and people most often call us about a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee in Castle and across Cardiff. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Castle

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Prices start from £350. We give a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your CF24 postcode.

Repairing versus replacing in Castle

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Why us?

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • A fixed quote before you book
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish

The process

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we are there. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes one to two days for a full suite. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the suite is ready.

How to prepare

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Related advice

DIY kit or professional repair?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What the surface is made of
  • Access to the area
  • How much damage there is

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Send photos for a quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Something in shot to show the size

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Honest limits

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
