10 questions to ask before you book

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Devil's Den

Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Our repair technicians work on coloured basins, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured shower trays, and common reasons people get in touch are a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Devil's Den

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Why us?

  • One price list for the whole UK
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish

Devil's Den questions

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

Do the materials smell?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

What happens next?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Do you come to Devil's Den?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Devil's Den. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is there a call-out fee?

There’s no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.

What affects the price in Devil's Den

Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed price from pictures. These are the things that affect it:

  • The type of damage
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • What the surface is made of

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Getting a price from pictures

Before you send photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Any details about the material
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • One picture of the entire suite

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, include your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

How it works

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. It normally takes a day or two, depending on how many items, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. We leave everything to cure, generally until the next day.

How to prepare

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

When we’d advise against a repair

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.
